We’re determined to keep Blueberry Fields going as Ken would have wished us to. With the combined efforts of grounds staff at the shopping centre, together with corporate and local volunteers we weeded, turned over and planted beds, spread mushroom compost, transplanted sunflowers and started to harvest our vegetables in July, delivering a total of 91 lbs of produce to Kerr Street by the end of the month. Ken’s spirit lives on! So far we’ve harvested parsley and dill, garlic, carrots, cabbage, zucchini, green peppers and blueberries. We look forward to potatoes, beets and squash coming soon.
